Story - screenplay - direction: Bhaskar
Producer: K Nagababu
Release date: 26 November 2010
Theater watched: Screen 3, Prasads, Hyderabad
Ram (Ram Charan Tej) is an youngster staying in Australia. He is an honest guy who doesn’t want to complicate life by lying to others. He has clear-cut ideas about love and he thinks that the intensity of love will not remain the same as the relationship progresses. He falls in love at first sight with Jaanu (Genelia) and impresses her over a period of time. However, he clarifies that he can’t love her forever when she proposes to him. The rest of the story is about all the hurdles he comes across due to his honesty and truth-telling nature and how he overcomes them.
Artists Performance
orange Ram Charan Tej: Ram Charan Tej should be appreciated for accepting such a honest subject with a thin story line for his third movie. It shows that Charan is not trying to stick to stardom and is not willing to repeat the mistakes performed by stars. The entire films runs on his characterization. He is brilliant in the break-up scenes and I loved his don’t-give-a-damn body language. His dances are full of energy and life.
Others:
Genelia’s characterization is just an extension to her Bommarillu character. However, the initial scenes involving her are not good. Hero character falls in love with heroine character in the movie because of freshness and innocence (which was there in Bommarillu character). However she didn’t carry such a freshness in this movie. Shahzahn Padamsee looks gorgeous with an endearing smile. Brahmanandam is entertaining in a full-length role of Puppy. Praneeth (Avakai Biryani fame) is very good and engaging as a friend of hero. His mixed the style of Siddharth and Sekhar Kammula in his dialogue delivery. Srinivas Avasarala (Ashta Chemma fame) is cool. Vennela Kishore doesn’t have much role to play. Prabhu is adequate in a role of negative shades. Naga Babu played a nice role and his character gives food for thought to hero. Gayatri Rao, Sanchitha Shetty and Kalpika are adequate.
Technical departments
orangeStory - screenplay - direction: Bhaskar comes up with an unique and nice story that was never dealt on Telugu screen before. The basic point of love staling out over period of a time is an universal truth. Bhaskar explained the same with the ‘black and white’ characterization of Charan. Though he couldn’t get it right with his screenplay and back/forth narration in the first half, he explained the concept of the movie really well towards the climax with a gripping flashback and climax. Bhaskar who has done a beautiful film like Bommarillu with completely positive characters has infused negative shades in the heroine’s father characters in his subsequent films like Parugu and Orange. Having Prabhu’s character as negative one spoilt the mood/texture of the movie.
orangeOther departments:
Songs scored by Harris Jayaraj are peppy and energetic. Rooba Rooba song is my favorite. However the background scored for the movie didn’t help in elevating the situations. Dialogues (done by three writers) are partly okay. The philosophical dialogues explaining the concept of love are interesting in the second half. Cinematography and visuals are very good. Cinematography for the entire Mumbai episode is excellent. Marthand K Venkatesh opted for montage style editing (which is usually done for situational songs ) for scenes in the first half and they appear jerky because the background score didn’t sync with the visuals. Production values by Anjana Productions are good, but the producer failed in controlling the budget as the money spent for this movie didn’t translate onto the screen (Naga Babu claimed in an interview that he spent 90% of what it cost to make Magadheera).
orangeAnalysis:
This movie starts off on a dull note. But it gets interesting as Charan’s characterization is introduced. First half of the movie is inconsistent with improper pacing. However, movie gets into the groove from the flashback episode and it becomes a conversational film till climax. Bhaskar has taken a beautiful concept as the basis for story and it needs extreme dexterity to narrate such a story to common moviegoer. Bhaskar succeeded in getting it right towards the climax of the movie. But the ultra-modern orientation and conversations-based treatment might put normal movie goer off the hook. The plus points are Ram Charan Tej, Songs and basic story idea. On the flip side, freshness from heroine and a better handling of the first half would have done wonders to the movie. As for as I am is concerned I am convinced with the second half of the movie and I liked it. On a whole, Orange is an honest film with a nice story idea despite inconsistencies and a few dull moments. You may watch it!

Manisha Koirala to divorce
Manisha Koirala triggered a storm of gossip last Friday with her Facebook message about wanting a divorce just five months after her marriage to Samrat Dahal! When she deleted the post a few hours later, it had already spread like wildfire!
Sources close to her revealed the actress she wrote this when she was angry and "sometimes she just reacts and writes silly things", but Manisha's new decision to stay with her parents for a few days beacause of "health reasons" has fuelled the rumours further.
While attending the International Film Festival of India in Goa on Monday, the 40-year-old actress told the Kantipur daily that she had temporarily shifted to her parents' residence in Kathmandu. The reason? She said she was unwell and not due to any marital estrangement. "I was born in Biratnagar (a sunny town near the Indian border) and lived in Mumbai. So I find it cold in Kathmandu," she added.
Meanwhile, Manisha's family has already denied the rumours that her marriage was on the rocks. Her father, former minister Prakash Koirala, told the local media that a lovers' tiff had been blown out of proportion. "The news is baseless," the former politician said. "Manisha has always been in the public eye and people are interested in her life. Previously, there were speculations about her marriage; now, it is her divorce," he added.

Brindavanam Telugu Movie Review

Movie: Brindavanam
Banner: Sri Venkateswara Creations
Music: S Thaman
Cinematography: Chota K Naidu
Art: AS Prakash
Fights: Ram - Lakshman
Producers: Dil Raju
Story,Screenplay & Direction: Vamsi Paidipally
Cast: NTR, Kajal Agarwal, Samantha, Prakash Raj, Srihari, Kota Sreenivasa Rao, Brahmanandam, Venu Madhav, Ajay, Tanikella Bharani, Praneet Reddy, Raghu Babu, Ahuti Prasad etc
Release Date: 14th Oct 2010
Story
Krish (NTR) is the only son of a multi-millionaire industrialist and his girlfriend is Indu (Samantha). Indu’s friend is Bhoomi (Kajal Agarwal). Bhoomi’s father (Prakash Raj) forces her to get into wedlock but she wants to continue her studies. Hence she lies to her father that she is already in love with a guy and her father wants to meet her boy friend. Indu asks Krish to act as boyfriend of Bhoomi. The rest of the story is all about what happens in Brindavanam (Prakash Raj’s house).
Artists Performance:
NTR: NTR who is known as huge mass hero came out of his image to do a character that doesn’t have his usual roughness to it. He is very good as a lover boy and a lovable son. He has also made sure that there are ample fights and a few mass dialogues for his fan-base to enjoy. NTR should be appreciated for doing the pre-climax scene. He again proves to be one of the best dancers in the industry.
Kajal Agarwal is nice. Samantha who played prim, proper and individualistic Jessie in YMC played a glamorous role in this film by wearing western outfits. She is cool. Prakash Raj does his usual father role with panache. Srihari is very good in an important role. Brahmanandam is hilarious as dupe father of NTR. Ajay looks dashing as villain, Tanikella Bharani and Kota Sreenivasa Rao are excellent. Venu madhav, Mukesh Rushi, Raghu Babu & Ahuti Prasad are adequate. Telugu Movie Reviews
Director Vamsy Paidipalli did enough home work this time. His efforts can be fructified. To say something trivial, Vamsy Paidipalli proved that he has good taste for women. Not just the heroines, even the side dancers looked beautiful in dances (especially in village song). Glamour quotient is maintained through out the film even with female character artistes.
Highlights:
Dialogues by Koratala Shiva
Art work by Anand Sai
Fights by Ram-Laxman
Technical Departments:
The story of the movie resembles a few similar themed films like Bavagaru Bagunnara and Allugugaru Vacharu. There also traces of Bommarillu in Prakash Raj’s characterization. Vamsi Paidipalli has proved his calibre as a director who knows how to make stylish, action films with his debut Munna. The action sequences in this movie are also well conceived. Vamsi has also did well in entertainment department in the second half of brindavanam. However, he couldn’t get it right when it comes to emotional/sentiment scenes. He tried using typical Karan Johar kind of sentiment where each and every character in the movie has moisturized eyes either due to happiness or sadness. The senti/emotional scenes are artificial in the movie. But the screenplay is properly formatted to cater to all sections of audiences.
Music by Thaman is good on screen when combined with the visuals. Background music is nice. Dialogues by Koratala Siva are neat. Cinematography by Chota K Naidu is excellent. I liked the way he has shown the vehicles with a clear sky behind. Editing is smooth. Art direction by Anand Sai is good. Ram - Laxman’s fights are enjoyable. Production values by Dil Raju are good very good.
Final Analysis:
First half of the movie is adequate. Major part of the second half is entertaining. Climax of the movie is debatable. The plus points are NTR and entertainment in second half (from interval to the 5th song of the movie). On the flip side, the story of the movie gives us feeling in many aspects and the emotional part should have been natural (instead of appearing forced). Brindavanam is a decent and clean movie with enough ingredients to make it work at box office. It is up to NTR to get a range for the movie.

Bava Telugu Movie Review
STARRING : Siddharth, Rajendra Prasad, Pranthi and others
MUSIC : Chakri
DIRECTOR : Ram Babu
RELEASE DATE : 29th October 2010
Young lover boy hero Siddharth comes back after a not so successful run at the box office with his last two films. He naturally has some high expectation from his new film. Let us see how he has fared with the new film 'Baava'
Story:
First things first the story is neither a novel nor new. So if you think that you are going to see something different then you could be in disappointment. The story is about a young boy Veera Babu (Siddharth). He is the son of Rajendra Prasad. Like most young boys of his age, Veera Babu is also a carefree and spoilt brat. He gives a damn for others and with his group of friends creates all kinds of trouble in the village. The hero meets the heroine Varalakshmi (Pranitha) and it is only natural that love blossoms between the two. Varalakshmi is the daughter of a rich man Ahuthi Prasad. He is so conscious of his wealth and status that he only talks with people who are equal to him in wealth.
Ahuthi wants to get his daughter married to Taniekella's son but the boy is a crook. When Varalakshmi realizes that Veera Babu is her Baava she marries him in a temple. The next logical thing is marriage but as usual there is a flashback and Rajendra Prasad is actually related to Varalakshmi. What is the link and how it helps or mars the prospect of the hero's marriage with the heroine is the suspense element in the film and it should be watched as the drama unfolds on the screen.
Performance:
Siddharth as usual is full of live. He is jovial, smart, adoring etc. etc. Siddharth does a good job and his dubbing too is quite okay.
Pranitha is hot and can also perform well. So she is sure to bag a few more roles after this film.
Rajendra Prasad is one of the senior most actors in the industry and his experience is evident at the way he carries his role in the film. He is very apt for the role of the hero's father.
Ahuthi Prasad has a lengthy role and he carries it with the required passion. Samrat does a good job in a negative role. The others from Tanikella to Kasi Viswanath and Raghu Babu were okay.
The groups of Siddhartha's friends manage to raise some laughter. The comedy by Ali and Brahmanandam, a spoof on Varudu is good at the beginning but fizzles out later.
Analysis:
Baava is a routine film but there is some freshness in the overall product. Part of this is due to the good cinematography and beautiful locales. The music by Chakri is adequate and a couple of songs are hummable.
