This is a big switch — from Telugu cinema to Hindi. A ‘big’ leap at that one. If buzz in Mumbai is to be believed, Telugu film director Puri Jaganath will soon to directing none other than the Shahenshah of Bollywood, Amitabh Bachchan.
The grapevine suggests that the director was in Mumbai recently to meet Big B. Tentatively titled Buddha (old man) this film will be Puri’s launchpad in Hindi cinema. RGV is said to be the creative producer while Madhu Mantena will take over the reins of production. And rumours also say that Bachchan senior has agreed to be part of the project.
Puri on the other hand is now busy scripting the film which is expected to go on the floors sometime next year. The director is however maintaining silence about the issue. Considering how equations change in the industry with projects being shelved quite often, this comes as no surprise.
