It’s not a surprise that no big budget tollywood movie is without the star comedian Brahmanandam. He is the highest paid comedian in the industry which is almost equivalent to the heroines and few of the hero’s remuneration.
According to sources, the actor has charged a whopping Rs. 1 cr. for ‘Namo Venkatesa’ and Rs. 80 lacs for ‘Adhurs’ which were released for this Pongal. The figures tell us the kind of attraction Brahmanandam has.
Sources also say that, this is third time in last one year that the actor has hiked his remuneration. “Today, no movie can be made without comedy. Its prominence is increasing with every release and making the audience laugh has become the biggest aim. I’ve been flooded with offers lately and to put a tab on the number of films I take up, I’ve increased my remuneration now,” said Brahmanandam.

Chandrababu’s Money Mania Links Jr NTR Marriage

Bava was launched today morning at Annapurna studios. ML Padma Kumar Chowdary produces in the direction of Rambabu. Seevu Vytla switched on the camera, VV Vinaak sounded the clapboard and Kodi Rama Krishna directed the first shot.
Director Rambabu said, “It is the story of bava maradalu (brother-in-law and sister-in-law). A popular hero is going to play the role of Siddharth’s father. I would like to thank producer Chowdary and hero Siddharth for giving me the opportunity as director.”
Music director Chakri said, “This is my second film with Sidharth and fifth film with ML Kumar Chowdary.”

2012 created history among dubbed Hollywood movies in Telugu by collecting around 12 crores of share in it’s theatrical run. James Cameron’s latest sensation Avatar (Telugu) is all set to cross 2012 (Telugu) share of 12 crores. The estimated total share of the movie is going to be 15 crores. Meanwhile Avatar (English version) has crossed 1 billion dollar mark worldwide in 17 days by becoming the fourth biggest hit so far (Titanic – $1.8 billion, The Lord of the rings: The return of the King - $1.12 billion and Pirates of Caribbean: Deadman’s Chest - $1.07 billion). In India, Avatar crossed 67 crores mark by becoming the second biggest Hollywood hit after 2012. Tagore Madhu got the rights of Telugu dubbed version of Avatar.

Review
Story
It’s a story that runs on no suspense but humor. Like in many old movies, the twin brothers get separated at the time of birth. A Brahmin lady loses her child just a few minutes after his birth. The news first comes to the notice of an old woman in the family and she secretly replaces the dead-infant with a healthy baby from adjacent mother who delivers twins.
The adjacent mother leaves the hospital with single child assuming the other one died. Thus one boy grows up in Brahmin family as Chari (Jr NTR) and another grows up at his mother as Narsimha (Jr NTR). Telugu Movie Reviews
While Chari is orthodox in speech, act and thought..Narasimha is rugged in every way. How these two brothers unite forms the climax. Chandrakala (Nayantara) pairs up with Chari and another cosmo-girl (Sheela) becomes the love interest of Narasimha.
Artists Performance:
Jr NTR lives up to the expectations in everything. He brought many laughs in theaters with his Brahmin character and hilarious characterization. Narasimha part is quite routine. His dances took away the breath of audiences. Especially his steps in ‘pilla na valla kaadu’ received once-mores in theatres. But the costumes part is very weak. Why did he put on jackets in every scene? That’s not understood.
Nayantara is slim and sleek while Sheela looted young hearts with glowing skin and sensuous garments. Nothing more is left for heroines than this to discuss.
Brahmanandam is ok as Bhattu but more is expected from him in last 30 minutes as well. The film would have brought better feel with that. Raghu Babu is good and MS Narayana is better. Tanikella Bharani aptly grooved in Brahmin’s role.

Disappointments:
* Sayaji Shinde’s character is half baked. Audiences didn’t understand if he were a positive or negative character. On a whole, the characterization graph is not complete.
* Climax is trash with senseless weapon theme. No one understood the logic and possibility of such a weapon that appears from air!!!
Final Analysis:
Observing the uncertainty of the release of this film in Hyderabad (due to Telangana agitators), I moved to coastal Andhra and reserved my ticket to watch as it’s my profession. But I found something interesting here. A few Osmania students have come here from Hyderabad with same uncertainty and met me in theatre. I understood, movie lovers know no boundaries and no politics can put iron curtains among the lovers of art.
Well, coming into the analysis part, it’s a ‘King’ kind of narration but action dominated comedy. Audiences got vexed up watching sentiment and violence in this type of story line, but prefer it when blended with loads of comedy. Although attempts are made with the characters like Bhattu (Brahmanandam) and Atma (MS Narayana), the dose isn’t sufficient. The requirement is certainly more.
First half brings an average feel while the second half breezes little better with more comedians. But the climax is predictable and abrupt. That is very well within the expected limits of common audiences. What marred the movie from attaining greater heights is only the weapon-episode and climax part.
On a whole, it’s a treat for movie lovers as NTR appeared on screen after a very long gap.
Jr NTR reduced his remuneration
According to the industry sources, Jr.NTR has reduced his remuneration by Rs.1.5 crores, inorder to facilitate the producers. Since, the production costs are rising day after day and there is a fall in the revenues NTR seems to have taken such decision.
The reports say that, the actor keeps 1crore separately and he accepts the amount only if the movie is doing high business at the box-office, otherwise the amount will be going to the producer. In order, to reduce the burden to the producers to some extent, NTR has taken this resolution.

Rambha Engagement Today
Actress Rambha is all set to get married to Canada-based businessman, Indiran (37) of Magic Woods Park. The actress is getting engaged today at a star hotel in Chennai with the blessings of elders in both the families and according to the reports the actress is entering the wed-lock on March 27 at Tirupati. According to the sources, many famous personalities from the tinsel world will attend this function.

Veteran Actor Gummadi Venkateswara Rao Passes Away
Veteran actor, Gummadi Venkateswara rao (83) passed away yesterday night around 11.30 pm. He was admitted in Care Hospital on Sunday due to serious illness.
The actor was popularly known as Gummadi, who has entered the silver screen with the film Adhrusta deepudu and served the Telugu cinema for more than 55 years by acting in 500 films in various genres. He is known for his unique style of dialogue delivery and expressions and was also awarded the prestigious Raghupathi Venkaiah Award by the Government of Andhra Pradesh in1999.
According to sources, the final rituas are to be performed tomorrow at Panjagutta burial grounds, Hyderabad.

Kasko Telugu Movie Review
Released on the eve of Christmas, Vaibhav-starrer Kasko, presented by yesteryear's star director Kodandarami Reddy, fails to cash in on the festive fervour. Coming up with a rather weak storyline, the film tries to bank on Brahmanandam's star comedian status in the first half. Vaibhav tries his best to pull through the action sequences and comedy scenes, but it is dance where he is at his best. G Nageshwar Reddy (director) should have resorted to better techniques to entertain the audience, instead of trying to incorporate Telugu cinema's most-trusted elements like comedy (which more often than not take the form of cheap humour) and more action than is necessary.
Kasko starts off well with a powerful action sequence, where our hero has got just 20 minutes to finish all the thugs, because he should catch a train to Hyderabad. He well completes the task and succeeds to escape his father's eyes (which means he has not a single cut on his body and his clothes neat). On board, he accidentally bumps into Mahesh Babu (Brahmanandam), with whom he goes on to stay for the next few weeks. Also there is a girl, who has no purpose except to show her skin in two numbers and try make a sleazy film with a fatso in a mall. Mahesh shares his flashback where he was humiliated by Allauddin's men at the Charminar; here, though the intent of the director is to evoke laughter, it doesn't end up producing because no one wants to see an IPS champ stripped by street rowdies, even in a film. And if it is shown to produce laughter, it instead seems baffling and insensitive. If Brahmanandam's rage to eliminate rowdyism is mere anger without the guts, Pawan Kalyan a.k.a Vamsi (Vaibhav) has got the valour to destroy Topu Malleesh, Saleem and others, Wednesday after Wednesday.
Meanwhile, our hero is making an endless search for Hasina Begum. If we do not know why, a call from his father (Chalapathi Rao) asking Vaibhav to find her soon tries to pep up suspense. Allauddin is presented as the biggest villain of them all, but in second half he has no role. Though the hero is on a hunt for him because he alone holds the clue to his lover girl's whereabouts, he has the time to indulge in merry-making, shake his hips, tease and even join a software company. How come he is able to make fun when his 'dil ki dhadkan' is in the villain's custody and when he doesn't even know if she is safe?
Go and find out for yourself why the hero goes to Warangal in the second half and why Prakash Rawat has the girl arrested in his house.
Do not expect an entertainer. Everything is hackneyed and tacky. From performances to dialogue, screenplay and music, everything makes you ask for more. Why does the hero need to worry to know the girl's name when she is an RJ who tells her name every five minutes on her show?
Vaibhav needs to develop his style and not imitate others. He belongs to that class of the heroes who follows the blueprint laid down by bigger screengods and it doesn't augur well for a budding male star. Shwetha Basu should slim down and should not do easy roles. The director tries to draw from others' signature (Sreenu Vaitla et al).
Jaya Prakash Reddy's comedy sounds a repetition of some of his previous acts, especially Kick. The Padma Shri comedian manages to tickle the funny bone, on and off. Rawat is insufficiently menacing.
Ravi Teja's big movie from summer
Ravi Teja is on roll. He has already signed two films in 2010 - Krishnavamsi's next and R R Movie Maker's film. And now he has given green signal to another film. Tolly2Holly, the production house, that recently produced two films in 2009, would be producing Ravi Teja's new film and it would be by directed by young director. The said young director has recently delivered a hit. Ravi Teja has allocated his dates from April and the film will be formally launched very soon. It is going to be lavishly shot in foreign locations with big budget. The producers are planning to rope in two big time heroines for this film.

pravarakhyudu Jagapathi Babu looks very handsome in the role of a charmer. Priyamani is gorgeous in this movie and oozes natural oomph though she wore traditional dresses. Hamsa Nandini is neat in a small role. CVL makes a mark with his nice diction. Brahmanandam’s role is partly entertaining. Sunil and Ali are routine. Madhu Sharma sizzled in a cameo. Dharmavarapu Subramanyam has some nice dialogues.

Madan who has strong writing abilities came up with a few interesting scenes. But lack of engaging screenplay and too many unnecessary scenes mar the narration. I liked the way heroine imagines the things visually and director used a nice technique there.
pravarakhyuduOther departments: Music by MM Keeravani is an asset. All songs are good and background music is excellent. Except for temple song, none of the other songs are placed in right situations. I liked the way he used ‘vivaha bhojanambu’ tune for ‘you wanna taste this’ episode (Jagapati Babu cooking). Dialogues are good in parts. But too many dialogues made this movie a verbose film. Cinematography by Surender Reddy is excellent. Art direction for the temple set is good. The quality of postproduction of the movie (color grading) is superb. Pravarakhyudu is one of the very few Telugu films made with top technical standards in this year. The credit must go to the producer Ganesh Indukuri who blindly believed the director and spent enormous amount of money on production and post-production activities (including a costly temple set and African safari). The producer has painted the entire city green with the posters of Pravarakhyudu (if you travel by PV Narasimha Rao’s 12 km express highway, you see only posters of this movie).
pravarakhyuduAnalysis: You will find the descriptions in novels very useful to imagine and get interested in story. What happens if the same descriptions are converted into dialogues and rendered in a feature film? You will end up finding the entire movie verbose. That is the primary problem with the narration of Pravarakhyudu movie. First half of the movie is little boring. Second half is better. The plus points are Jagapati Babu and production values. On the flipside, screenplay is not engaging enough and narration lacks substance. Despite of the above mentioned flaws, Pravarakhyudu still offers something for family crowds.

pravarakhyuduOther departments: Music by MM Keeravani is an asset. All songs are good and background music is excellent. Except for temple song, none of the other songs are placed in right situations. I liked the way he used ‘vivaha bhojanambu’ tune for ‘you wanna taste this’ episode (Jagapati Babu cooking). Dialogues are good in parts. But too many dialogues made this movie a verbose film. Cinematography by Surender Reddy is excellent. Art direction for the temple set is good. The quality of postproduction of the movie (color grading) is superb. Pravarakhyudu is one of the very few Telugu films made with top technical standards in this year. The credit must go to the producer Ganesh Indukuri who blindly believed the director and spent enormous amount of money on production and post-production activities (including a costly temple set and African safari). The producer has painted the entire city green with the posters of Pravarakhyudu (if you travel by PV Narasimha Rao’s 12 km express highway, you see only posters of this movie).
pravarakhyuduAnalysis: You will find the descriptions in novels very useful to imagine and get interested in story. What happens if the same descriptions are converted into dialogues and rendered in a feature film? You will end up finding the entire movie verbose. That is the primary problem with the narration of Pravarakhyudu movie. First half of the movie is little boring. Second half is better. The plus points are Jagapati Babu and production values. On the flipside, screenplay is not engaging enough and narration lacks substance. Despite of the above mentioned flaws, Pravarakhyudu still offers something for family crowds.

Story of Surya Grahan and Chandra Grahanam in Hindu Religion
Surya Grahan, solar eclipse, is widely mentioned in the Holy Scriptures of Hinduism. There is also an interesting myth regarding the occurrence of Surya Grahan. It happened during the Samdura Manthan (churning of ocean) episode in the Puranas. Rahu (Demon) and Mohini, an incarnation of Lord Vishnu, are the main characters in the incident.
The Amrit (elixir) that was obtained from churning the ocean was cunningly stolen by Ausras (Demons). Lord Vishnu took the form of Mohini, a beautiful damsel, to win back the Amrit. She achieved her mission by enamoring the Asuras, they fell for her beauty and handed over the Amrit to her.
Mohini returned to the Devas and started distributing it. Devas sat in a line and mohini gave a portion to each one of them. Rahu, an Asura, who found out that they were tricked took the form a Deva and sat in the line between Chandra (Moon God) and Surya (Sun God).
When Mohini approached Rahu, Chandra and Surya realized that Rahu was not one among them and soon identified him as an Asura. Mohini soon severed the h
ead of Rahu which flew into the sky.Rahu’s, depicted in the form of a Snake head occasionally, continued to live and decided to avenge Surya and Chandra.
Thus periodically Rahu engages in a war with Surya and Chandra. The Chandra Grahan (Lunar eclipse) and Surya Grahan (Solar eclipse) takes place when Rahu gobbles up Moon and Sun respectively. Surya and Chandra then fights to free themselves.

Hindu Temples Remain Closed
All Hindu Temples remain closed during Surya Grahan. Temples open only after proper rituals are performed to get rid of the ill effects of the Surya Grahan. However, some Lord Shiva temples remain open during Surya Grahan as Lord Shiva is considered as ‘Layakara,’ who Himself is an embodiment of darkness.
Fasting During Surya Grahan
Adult Hindus stop eating 12 hours before a solar eclipse. Children, old people and those who are ill stop eating 3 hours before the beginning of a solar eclipse. If the solar eclipse ends after sunset, then people fast during night and consume food only next day morning.
One should not take food at the time of Grahan because it is said that at this time the most harmful rays from the sun can be seen and absorbed.
Pregnant Woman and Surya Grahan
Normally at the time of Surya Grahan, pregnant women are supposed to not come out of the house, with no sunlight entering either by doors or windows. This is to avoid harmful rays

A partial solar eclipse, Surya Grahan, will be visible in India on January 15, 2010. According to NASA, the solar eclipse on 2010 January 15 is an Annular Eclipse. In India, it will be visible from 11:25 hrs to 15:15 hrs (Indian Standard Time) on January 15, 2010. The Surya grahanam will be visible in most of Africa, India, Dubai, Oman, Qatar, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia and parts of China. As per traditional Hindu calendar, January 15 is an Amavasi Day.
An annular eclipse happens when the sun is visible like a ring of fire, with the moon darkening the center of the sun. In South India in Trivandrum, the capital of Kerala, the annular eclipse, or the ring of fire, will be for nearly 8 minutes – from 13:10:35 hrs to 13:18:08 hrs.
In India, the grahan on January 15, 2010 passes between the southern tip of India and northern Sri Lanka. Both regions lie within the path where maximum annularity lasts for 10 minutes 15 seconds. Maximum grahan will be visible in Trivandrum and other regions in south Kerala and in Tirunellveli, Madurai, Thanjavur and Kumbakonam in Tamil Nadu.

All Hindu temples remain closed during Surya Grahan and will reopen only after the Grahan is over and after conducting special pujas and rituals. On the day, Hindus also take holy dip in holy rivers like Ganga and also at Brahma Sarovar in Kurukshetra.
Usually, religious Hindus do not perform any work during Surya Grahan and they purify themselves by taking a bath and chant the Ashtakshara Mantra dedicated to Shri Krishna and Mahamritunjaya mantra dedicated to Lord Shiva. Ashtakshara mantra is ‘Shri Krishna ha sharnam mama.’
Caution: During Surya Grahan, there are also some elements in society who take undue advantage of innocent Hindus in the name of astrology and various doshas on horoscope. Ancient Hindu saints only talk about the physical harm Surya Grahanam can create on human beings. Put the thinking cap and keep out unwanted elements who try to take undue advantage during such occasions. The only aim of such people is money.
Eclipse earth won't see for 1033 years
New Delhi, Jan. 3 -- The longest annular solar eclipse of the third millennium will occur on January 15.
There won't be an annular solar eclipse longer than this one till 3043. An annular eclipse is when the sun is visible like a ring of fire, with the moon darkening its centre.
The last annular solar eclipse visible from India was in 1976. Even then, it could only be seen from the northeast parts of Jammu and Kashmir.
""Most of India will be able to see partial phases of the eclipse which will first touch the western side and then travel in a northeasterly direction", according to Nehru Planetarium Director N. Rathnasree. The extreme southern parts and southern tip of Mizoram will be able to see the annular phases of the eclipse, she added.
In Mizoram, the eclipse will last from 12.18 pm to 3.32 pm, with an annular phase of three minutes from 2.03 pm. Delhi will only see a long partial eclipse from 11.53 am to 3.11 pm.
2009 ends with partial blue moon eclipse
Surabhi Gupta New Delhi, Jan 1 (PTI) Revellers waiting to ring in the New Year witnessed a rare partial blue moon eclipse, an event which will not be seen until 2037. A partial lunar eclipse occurs when only part of the moon passes through the umbra or darkest part of earth''s shadow, Science Popularisation Association of Communicators and Educators (SPACE) Director C B Devgun told PTI. Sky gazers were enthralled to see the earth''s shadow sweep past the moon, turning a yellow shining full moon into a dim red one.
As the earth came in between the sun and the moon, its shadow first began sweeping across the moon blocking out much of its bright light. As the shadow descended gently, the moon''s face turned red.
The maximum partial eclipse was at about 1 am when the shadow started disappearing slowly to make the moon partially visible. "The sky turned red when eclipse was at its maximum, the disc of the moon also turned reddish," Devgun said.
The awesome spectacle of the moon being eclipsed was visible all over the country, including the national capital. The last blue moon partial eclipse occurred in December 1982 and the next will occur in January 2037.
It was a rare event, Prof R C Kapoor of Indian Institute of Astro Physics said. When a second full moon in a calendar month appears in the night sky, the occurrence is known as a blue moon.
